Project Description
The world sometimes works in surprising ways. If you just allow it, by being open to opportunities that pop up around you, it can lead you to unforgettable experiences that can fundamentally change you. And these opportunities can take you to Bulgaria too!
The training “Storify your mission for impact!” in Dobrinishte started calmly and rather typically. Getting to know other participants, the trainers, the goals of the programme. But like a predator lulling its prey into a false sense of security, it was about to strike and catch me completely off-guard. One task after another, it started to get under my skin, firstly by just creating a sense of frustration related to a social problem, later pushing me towards a concrete vision to address it, until I was so captivated by the creation of a social campaign that all other things, like eating and sleeping, became secondary. One idea after another, one brainstorm after another, the combined minds of my team were giving life to something new, unique, our own. And I believed in it completely, in each aspect of it: the mission, the visuals, the concept. The adrenaline was pumping in my veins as I was feeling that we were making something important, something that could make a difference. And this feeling was like no other.
The training was about to finish with the presentation of the campaigns made by all teams, and one of them was about to win. Only one. And I knew that there was only one result that would satisfy me. So the night before that, my motivation was breaking all of the limits that had seemed unbreakable. It is shocking how much one can learn in a couple of hours, how many new tools can be utilised half-blindly, if there is a passion behind it. The campaign was being shaped, it felt like a birth of a new life.
Did we win? Well, we did not. Other ideas were great too. But in the end, it did not matter that much. Everything that happened before that, all of the emotions I went through – this is mine, it will stay with me, and it will always remind me of the importance of dedication and faith in everything one does. Because they can change a task that others would consider mundane into a true adventure.
