What is a youth exchange?

A Youth Exchange is a short-term meeting of a group of young people from different countries who come together to implement activities on a topic of common interest, actively participating in all stages. The exchange is for young people aged 13-30, but age requirements are further specified. The aim is for participants to be proactive, develop new skills and competences in a given field, enrich and exchange knowledge and experience in an international environment, meet new friends and partners, learn about other cultures, connect with peers through shared European values. The national group consists of a minimum of 4 young people and one youth leader.

The association implements its own and participates in partner youth exchanges funded by the Erasmus+/KA1 programme.

GUIDELINES FOR PARTICIPATION IN EXCHANGES

#1 Preparation

  • Участниците активно предлагат дейности в програмата на обмена
  • Задължително се реализират подготвителни срещи
  • Пътуването се организира от участниците
  • Билетите се съгласуват предварително
  • Избира се икономичен/зелен транспорт, съобразен с бюджета
  • Пътните документи се предоставят на Сдружението
  • Не се възстановяват пътните на участник, който не е заминал
  • Допускат се два дни (или четири при зелено пътуване) престой извън датите на обмена
  • Застраховката е задължителна и се поема от участниците
  • Участниците декларират здравния си статус и други специфики

#2 Participation

  • Participants commit to all activities foreseen in the exchange
  • They carry out the tasks set in advance
  • Maintain timely and regular communication with the team responsible for the project
  • Engage in established communication channels
  • Complete the necessary application forms with comprehensive answers to the questions
  • Inform the team of the Association about problems that arise
  • Collect materials for dissemination of results

  • Complete the necessary application forms with comprehensive answers to the questions
  • Inform the team of the Association about problems that arise
  • Collect materials for dissemination of results

#3 Follow-up activities

  • Within 7 days of return, participants prepare a report
  • Implement follow-up activities
  • Complete the YouthPass certificate
  • Leaders complete the report to Erasmus+, sent automatically through the system
  • Participants provide expense report and travel reimbursement documents
  • Original travel documents are sent by post to the address indicated by the organisers
  • Reimbursement is only made to the participant’s bank account within 2 months after participation
  • The participant commits to participate in future meetings with young people to share the exchange experience

#4 Dissemination of results

  • The participant prepares an informational piece (article, blog post, video, etc.) for dissemination of the results within 10 days after the end of the project
  • They provide the piece in Bulgarian and English, ready to publish on dissemination channels
  • They provide pictures and/or video
  • They participate in informational and publicity activities, including assisting in the dissemination of information
  • They provide the received materials (work sheets, manuals, online resources – links, etc.) to VIA CIVIC
  • They provide a contact list of the project participants
  • They participate in the implementation of VIA CIVIC’s communication strategy, in promoting the opportunities of Erasmus +
